This traditional house, built in 1812, offers all modern facilities with en suite bedrooms. Guests have their own wing of the house and a separate entrance. The House sits well back among large private gardens, popular with local deer, which are surrounded by mature forest. There is ample private parking for our guests as well as a large secure bothy providing dry storage for bicycles / sports equipment. Guests have their own sitting room where they can relax in comfortable seating, listen to a selection of music or read from our extensive library while enjoying a complementary wee dram of whisky. We also have a wide variety of board games and a selection of tourist information and maps to assist in planning your well earned holiday. Detailed information and advice on climbing and walking in the area can be provided. Packed lunches can be provided for walkers on request. Breakfast is served at your own table in the Dining Room. Dinner (choose from a two or three course meal) can be provided on request at the time of booking. Arrochar is only 5 minutes from beautiful Loch Lomond and 50 minutes from Glasgow Airport while Edinburgh, Glasgow, the Highlands and Western Inner Hebridean Islands are all within easy reach. Arrochar is in the heart of Scotland’s first National Park with ample visitor opportunities for sightseeing, sports and recreation. Ashfield House is an ideal base for many outdoor activities which include cruise trips, golf, fishing, canoeing, mountain biking and particularly all levels of hill walking / climbing. We have a long history of receiving guests from all over the world and particularly from Europe as we speak French and Spanish.
